FSG 63 Alarm Signal And Security Detection Systems
Federal Supply Group 63 consists of Alarm, Signal and Security Detection systems. This is further broken down into five Federal Supply Classes. They are: 6310 Traffic and Transit Signal Systems; 6320 Shipboard Alarm and Signal Systems; 6330 Railroad Signal and Warning Devices; 6340 Aircraft Alarm and Signal Systems; and 6350 Miscellaneous Alarm, Signal, and Security Detection Systems. The items in this supply group are for user and public safety to alert people of an impending hazard.
In FSC 6430 you will find items such as oxygen pressure signals and low fuel warning devices. In FSC 6310 you will find items such as traffic and railroad signals. These items are especially important to the military to protect men and women working on or near heavy machinery as well as flying or diving. Spares for these are often found due to the easily replaceable components and cheap overhaul. Unfortunately, they are not often stocked and need to be taken off higher assemblies.
