Bell Helicopter has recently been able to conclude a deal with African offshore support company, Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc.Caverton has purchased brand new 8 407GXP helicopters to expand their fleet rescue team. Along with the newly purchased aircraft, there will be included a customer advantage plan (CAP) support solutions that Bell has to offer.
Caverton is a large support service that specializes in maritime and coastal surveillance. The Nigerian company specializes in the gas and oil divisions for the marine/aviation sectors. Caverton is a great asset to Nigeria as it is able to provide over 700 jobs to hard-working employees.
Director of Bell Helicopter in the Africa and Middle East division, David Sale, can assure that with this purchase it is only increasing their reputation of being a good renown aircraft manufacturer. Sale stated,” “With nearly 1,400 Bell 407s in operation around the world, the aircraft continues to be a success in global markets with sales steadily growing in Africa.”
Caverton has established a flight facility located at Murtala Muhammad International airport in Lagos, Nigeria. This flight facility has a size of 10,000 ft2 meters big along with other facilities across Nigeria.
The Bell 407GXP is an enhanced version of previous Bell 407 model. The Bell 407 is an additional 50 pounds more of “payload capability.” The GXP has been enhanced with a new M250 Rolls Royce engine. The Top of the Line Rolls Royce engine allows for further fuel efficiency and high performance. Many new innovations have been integrated to increase mobility and add features such as hover performance. Keeping maintenance costs low is one of the Bells main concerns for their customers which is why they implement a transmission TBO extension to maintain and further the aircraft longevity.
