Hirose Launches High-Current Power Connector
Hirose has just announced the launch of their new high-current power supply connector which promises to simplify installation with a snap-lock mechanism to ensure a secure and safe connection. The connector is available in a DIN rail and panel mount version and compliments the snap-lock EM35M Series power connector by eliminating screw loosening and reduces wire procedures in buss bar applications. The EM35M Series power connectors are designed for manufacturing power control boxes, fuel batteries, generators and can support up to 50 Amps with an AWG #8 cable.
The EM35M Series power connectors are full customizable and offers flexible options in order to prevent mis-mating of
multiple connectors and uses up to two keys on the plug and three on the receptacle for a total of ten keying combinations. The EM35M Series power connectors mating sequence is designed to ensure the ground contact provides a proper ground before power is applied by connecting first when mating and last when unmating as an additional safety measure.
Furthermore, female contacts have a protective cover to reduce exposure and potential damage during the assembly and delivery of the cable. Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for
Hirose Electric USA Rick van Weezel believes the EM35M Series power connectors will increase savings and reduce installation time due to eliminating screw tightening, crimp termination not requiring a special tool and having much less wiring.
