Smalley Single Turn Wave Springs

Gap and Overlap Type Wave Springs are used for a large range of applications. They are used for their reliability and preciseness.Smalley has released two sets of Wave Springs that when used together create growth within a cavity. Unlike the die stamped wave washers that usually cause binding or hang-up, these two wave springs are engineered to be more efficient.

The first is the Gap Type Wave Spring. As its name calls, it creates a gap between its ends. The other spring is an Overlap Type Wave Spring which provides a cycling action. As one of the springs is deflected, the O.D. of the Gap Type Wave Spring grows larger, the O.D. contracts the bore.

The springs come in 3 different sizes; the SSR Series, SSR-N Series, and SSB Series. Each is available in carbon and stainless steel, and vary in diameter from ½” to 16” diameter, 3.250” to 7.750” diameter, and 16mm to 600mm diameter. Each size allow the springs to work for a large amount of applications, whether it is for those in which space is limited or for simply ones that require little to no bearing noise.
