Carlisle, which is a division of Carlisle Companies, recently introduced an updated CoreHC interconnection solution along with a new Card Edge Connectors contact system that will be teamed with its integrated line of high performing microwave cables and fast speed digital connectors. Carlisle's CoreHC interconnect cable assembly that can be directly attached is a test point system that is multi-channeled and is targeted towards high-density boards that have limited space. This cable allows for a reduction in trace lengths and higher signal integrity in comparison to boards that use the traditional SMA-type connectors. Roughly, there is around 4 times higher available bandwidth for signals that are in the same real estates as SMA connectors. The latest upgraded version of the CoreHC interconnects solution no longer has any soldiers, has a 1-piece interface for the PCB vertical and edge launch in a smaller footprint. This will allow for time to be saved and reduces overall costs since there is no longer any soldering to the board. This design is created for higher-cycle capability without the need to sacrifice signal integrity.
The new Card Edge Connectors contact system has been created for applications that are higher-speed and higher-density. It also has a mating surface area that is smooth, which will allow for a reduction in the wearing and tearing of contacts.
