On February 8, 2017, Mick Elliott wrote an article for Electronic Specifier talking about the new MUSBR series USB-C connector from Amphenol. This USB-C connector works across many different platforms such as smartphones, laptops, PCs, and tablets. Additionally, the USB-C connector is compatible with power packs, chargers, and industrial machinery.

Gap and Overlap Type Wave Springs are used in a wide range of applications for their reliability and precision. Smalley has released two sets of Wave Springs that, when used together, create expansion within a cavity. Unlike die-stamped wave washers that often cause binding or hang-up, these two wave springs are engineered for greater efficiency.

When it comes to the aerospace industry, finances play a significant role since most parts and components are expensive and must be certified. Many companies struggle to move forward with projects due to limited funding. Recently, the government of Canada provided a $283 million loan to Bombardier, which they will use for the 7000-business jet and C series aircraft programs. This funding will be allocated towards research and development for the new Bombardier Global 7000 business jet, scheduled for release within four years. It will also support marketing activities for their aircraft program and create several middle-class jobs, marking the beginning of a new generation of aircraft.

On January 12 2017, there was an article by Senior Editor Jim Lorincz who wrote for Fastener News talking about how there will be flawless engine fasteners by 3D laser gaging from the company, Brugola OEB Industriale S.p.A. This Italian fastener company is uses high performance and dynamic bolts that are used in engine assembly. The company has been working on engine fasteners for than three generations.

On November 22nd, 2016, an article was posted on Fastener World discussing Nord-Lock's new combi bolt designed to improve safety, efficiency, and accurate assembly while minimizing inventory. These combi bolt washers are available in various sizes such as NL5, NL6, NL8, NL10, NL10sp, and NL12, utilizing wedge locking technology for enhanced safety. The bolt has a permanently attached washer for added convenience.

These new series of connectors have been built with a smaller more compact structure considered to be a low profile BM29. This BM29 was built to have an enhanced powered connectivity while being able to save space for micro applications. Per the manufacture, Hirose Electric Group the BM29 comes to be one of world’s smallest hybrid FPC-to-board connectors. Designed with a uniquely small structure with “the height 0.6mm, depth of 1.5mm and a width of 3.16mm.”  These series of connectors are equipped with receptacles and plugs that are compatible with Flat Printed Circuit to hook with a board connection. Noted to be a hybrid connector that is imposed with ratings on the power contacts at a 3A and its signal contacts at a 0.3A.

Hirose is one of the best companies out there. They have been established since 1937. Ever since they have developed and introduced thousands of connectors that are beneficial for so many people they are well known in their industry. They manufacture connectors and have been the cause of the fast development in the field. Their goal is to always broaden the scope of their business activities they manage to do that by keeping pace with market advances and trying to satisfy the changing connector needs of companies in Europe, Asia and in North America.

JCS Hi-Torque has been around since 1768. This company was based in London, until 1970s where Trevor Mockridge and his two sons Anthony and Francis moved it tii Suffolk. They towed all their machines and workforce. All their products are produced in Suffolk especially including their Hi-Torque hose clamps. Magnesium is very well known. It is a very strong and lightweight. Many use it for productions. It is a more affordable option. But what many do not know is that it poses a problem, for fastening and joining. Many people are not aware of that. Therefore, many are starting to use aluminum, plastics, and composites. Aluminum is the ninth most abundant element in the universe. Although magnesium is as strong as steel, It is 33% lighter than aluminum. 60% lighter than titanium, and 75% lighter than steel.

Connectivity and sensory are a major factor in aerospace. It is very important to have sensors and connectivity for a safe flight. TE Connectivity has introduced the Kilovac EV202 which is a very high powered contactor. The great thing about this high-powered contactor is that it is sustainable to hardship environments like hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, and earthquakes. Another great aspect about these contactors are they are super small and not heavy so they are easily accessible. Having a lightweight item will make it easy to carry and install, also it does not have any problems functioning or carrying the product. However, The difference between these new products and older models are the sizing and the withholding. Even military uses these long lasting contactors in their vehicles that run on electric. For example, military vehicles use the contactor as a use for energy and battery storage and motion control applications.
